Usain Bolt Says He’s Ready To Retire After 2016 Olympics
Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet said in a recent interview that he plans to retire from athletics after the Rio de Janeiro Olympics that will take place in 2016.
Usain Bolt who holds the world record for both the 100m and the 200m sprint and has won six Olympic gold medals and another 8 World Championship gold medals said that he will compete at the highest level for only three more years. He plans to retire in the blaze of glory after winning as many gold medals at the 2016 Olympics.
In a press conference held in Brussels this Wednesday, the athlete said that he plans to retire after the Rio Olympics, especially after dominating the sport for so many years.
He also added that he was having a hard time finding the motivation to continue, and considered an even earlier retirement. However, he realized that to be considered among the all-time greats he needs to keep winning and go out on top.
He continued by saying that he plans to keep dominating and especially to get each season leading up to the Olympics correct while staying away from injuries. Usain Bolt also addressed Ben Johnson’s statement saying that the former Canadian sprinter could never beat him, and that he is just trying to get some media attention.
