VAIO Flip 11 Announced By Sony

An eleven-inch device was added into the VAIO Flip range of convertible laptops by Sony recently, the VAIO Flip 11. This range of convertible laptops features a distinctive pivoting hinge that allows the screen to swing from notebook mode into tablet mode. Although a number of positive reviews have been made on the Flip range, the VAIO Tap 11 of Sony was not as widely accepted.

The design of the Flip range keeps the two parts attached to each other. In contrast, the keyboard of the VAIO Tao 11 can be disengaged from the eleven-inch screen display to allow it to be used as a tablet. The screen on the VAIO Flip 11 is moved turned over backwards and closed down on the keyboard to allow it to be utilized as a tablet. One of the main negative comments on the VAIO Tap 11 is the lack of strength in the magnets that keep the display and keyboard together that will result to the two components to come apart when they are being carried around.

The entry-level model of the newly-announced product features a quad-core Pentium processor from Intel. It will also come with the VAIO Active Pen, which is pressure-sensitive. Consumers will have a choice of different color options such as silver, black and pink aluminum. The device will have a price tag of $799, which is significantly lower than the VAIO Flip 13, which has a price tag of $1,249.

In addition to the VAIO Flip 11, Sony also revealed that it aims to include a built-in 802.11ac adapter into the VAIO Tap 21, VAIO Tap 11 and the VAIO Pro 11 and Pro 13.
