Anaerobic digestion plants need a lot of valves and every one needs to work correctly. Not too long ago in the UK, the early developers of these plants suffered high plant outages while unsuitable valves were stripped down continually to clear blockages. In fact, at times in the mid-2000s the reliability of the  AD process itself was brought into question, when in truth the biogas production process was being hampered by poor valve equipment choice.

Now that AD Plants are increasingly providing CHP heat energy delivered as hot water to radiators dispersed throughout community heating schemes, yet more emphasis need to be placed upon the precise control of heat delivery via the buried pipelines involved.
