Wait Time For iPhone 6 Improves

The wait for the 16GB and 64GB models of the iPhone 6 and 6+ have gone down from several weeks to three to five business days. This is for all three color options, gold, silver and gray offered by the four major mobile service providers, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon. On the other hand, the waiting time for the 128GB model is around seven to ten days.

The latest delivery schedule is faster than the seven to ten days for the 16GB model and two to three weeks for the 64GB model.

The seven to ten-day-wait for the high-capacity model of the latest smartphone offering of Apple has improved from the three-week wait last month. The long wait period is typical of Apple, which normally faces a demand bigger than the supply as the manufacturer labored to produce a sufficient number of devices.

The supply of iPhones did not meet the high demand for the device last October, according to Apple chief executive Tim Cook. Over ten million units of both iPhone 6 variants were sold by the company during the first weekend it was offered in the market.

With the improving production rates and fulfillment of previous orders, the waiting period has also improved. But Apple has to ensure the demand for the latest smartphone is satisfied with the start of the holiday shopping season.

For consumers who want to purchase the device, they can check whether their preferred model is available of not at the nearest Apple store. Consumers can simply check the product page of the device and select the model before clicking on the Check availability link. Consumers have to enter their zip code before clicking on the Search Stores button, which will show consumers the nearest store were their preferred iPhone 6 model is available.
