Windows 10 DVD Player App Released By Microsoft

The Windows 10 DVD Player app was released recently by Microsoft for users who are still keen on using a DVD when they watch movies. The latest version of the operating system of the software giant, which was officially released on July29, comes with a number of features that drew praises from a number of users.

Among the new features of the new OS include a new Start menu, the Edge browser and Cortana digital assistant. However, it did not include some features that were included in earlier versions of the OS, including the Windows Media Center and a DVD player. While the Windows Media Player allows users to play CDs, it is not capable of playing DVDs.

The Windows 10 DVD Player app, which allows users to play disc using the DVD-Video format, was released by Microsoft recently and has a price tag of $15. However, it is possible to get the application for free.

In order to get the app for free, users should have a Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate Windows 8 with the Windows Media Center or the Windows 8.1 with the Windows Media Center before they upgrade to Windows 10. Users cannot get the app if they have a Windows 7 without the Media Center or they clean install Windows 10 or purchase a PC with a preinstalled Windows 10 OS.

Microsoft also revealed that the free app offer is available for a limited period of time. It remains unclear when the free offer would end since it is not indicated on the Q&A page for the app.

Three people, who did not reveal their names, reviewed the app on the store page giving it a below par average rating. One user described the new app as "functional but lackluster" while another user indicated that it was “too expensive.” The third reviewer listed some of the flaws of the Windows 10 DVD Player app along with some missing features.
