Wozniak Calls The Apple Watch A Piece Of Art

The co-founder of Apple may be singing a different tune when it comes to smartwatches with the upcoming release of the Apple Watch. Steve Wozniak was initially unimpressed with smartwatches and called the Samsung Galaxy Gear “worthless” last year.

Woz's comment was not due to the fact that he is the co-founder of the main rival of Samsung. In fact, he reportedly uses a number of Android devices. But, with the upcoming release of the smartwatch offering of Apple, he reportedly changed his attitude when it comes to smartwatches.

He indicated in a recent BBC interview that Apple is capable of producing products that are more fun compared to its competitors in the market.

He described the display of the Apple Watch as “a little piece of art.” He indicated that a number of people will be yearning for the device so much that they will want to get it immediately.

However, the market for the smartwatch offering of Apple remains uncertain. In fact, it remains to be seen if it will be appealing to the younger age market. It is possible that a good number of these individuals have no idea what a watch is and what it does. But, Woz thinks the features of the smartwatch of Apple will offer a number of benefits to its user.

He said it is useful for people with diabetes since it may have a feature that measures and monitors the blood sugar level of its users. This would give the device a huge niche in the market.

Woz added that owners of Apple products will likely buy the Apple Watch. This means millions of consumers may acquire the device from the very start. This will build up a critical mass for the device. If this were true, the critical mass created by the release of the device will have the potential of making its rivals in the market anxious about the device.

However, industry watchers are wary about the possibility that some individuals may find it demanding to charge another device each night. It also remains to be seen how visually-appealing the device will be and whether it will compel people to want it. Another aspect industry watchers are looking into is whether people will line up outside all Apple store. It also remains to be seen if people who join the lines outside these stores will be thrilled to be among the first people to purchase the upcoming Apple Watch.
