Xbox Live Gold Subscription Fee Reduced By Microsoft

Microsoft cut the cost of a twelve-month Xbox Live Gold subscription by $20 recently. The service offers free games, multiplayer gaming and other similar benefits to its subscribers.

Customers will not have to pay for the $60 annual fee for the subscription since the tech giant has reduced it to $39.99. It should be noted that there is nothing on the fine print indicating that the price reduction is temporary. If it is a temporary promotion, the fine print does not give any indications when the promotion will end.

The reduced subscription for the service is applicable for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles. It provides users the opportunity to compete against and play with other Xbox users. Customer can also play with a number of free games as well as get a discount of between 50 and 75 percent for games they want to purchase through the Xbox Store.

The Games with Gold program of Microsoft also offers a number of free games to Xbox Live Gold members every month. The Rayman Legends is available for members who currently own an Xbox One for the month of March. On the other hand, Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider are available for download by users of the Xbox 360.

By April, a bonus will be offered to all subscribers of the service. Owners of Xbox One consoles will get a pair of games while owners of the Xbox 360 get four free games.

The subscription will not play a significant role for Xbox owners who want to watch streaming videos since the tech giant modified its policy in June. The changes provided access to Xbox owner to various services, like Hulu Plus, HBO Go, YouTube and Netflix without getting a Live Gold subscription.

The $20 discount for the membership can be easily acquired by owners of Xbox consoles through a digital download or a physical card. No statements were issued by Microsoft in connection to the reduced price of an Xbox Live Gold membership.
