Zack Snyder Talks About Justice League Characters
While the recent Batman v Superman movie was good, the upcoming Justice League movie of Zack Snyder is expected to be better. Snyder said the movie is cool and fun to make the characters real. He was impressed with the personalities he created for each character in the upcoming movie.
Following a number of not-so-positive feedback on the Dawn of Justice, the director is moving into the next chapter in the DC Films universe. The movie, which started filming in England, will hit the big screen on November 17, 2017. It features Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The two superheroes, who drew inspiration from the sacrifice of Superman, are tracking down The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg when a force from a different world is threatening the Earth. Ezra Miller will play The Flash while Jason Momoa will play Aquaman. Ray Fisher will take the role of Cyborg.
One of the villains in the movie, Steppenwolf, will be featured on the Ultimate Edition director’s cut of Batman vs Superman, which will be released on digital by June 28 and on DVD/Blu-ray by July 19. Steppenwolf is a general of Darkseid, the ruler of Apokolips, one of the major villains on the comic book. The vision of Steppenwolf shows it interacting with Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, in a scene taken by Zack Snyder from the movie. While the interaction is important for Snyder, it is not essential in the timeline of Batman v Superman.
A number of easter eggs were also found on the Batman v Superman movie, including glimpses of The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. While Snyder did not want to preempt the upcoming movie, he said it was important to show the other characters before they are featured on the Justice League. The research of Lex Luthor was the only way for the Batman to come across the metahumans in the world.
Aside from playing the role of Batman, Ben Affleck is also an executive producer of the movie. However, Snyder said his role in the movie saw no significant changes. He said it was easier for them to discuss things since Affleck also has an upcoming Batman movie. He said they can help each other in understanding the role of Affleck in the movie. He can also ask Affleck for his opinion on the production.
After the filming for Justice League is complete, Affleck will work on his Batman project, which he is co-writing with Geoff Johns. Snyder said, as soon as Affleck finishes the upcoming Batman movie, he will return to them. While he said it remains uncertain if a sequel to the Justice League will be made, he admits everything can be changed and they are prepared for any necessary adjustments in the future.
